Outreach Associate

For over 30 years, The Partnership for the Homeless (“The Partnership”) has provided emergency shelter and prevention services to New Yorkers experiencing homelessness, at risk for homelessness or who are leaving shelters. The Partnership is committed to eliminating the root causes of homelessness through prevention, intervention, and support.
The Partnership for the Homeless is searching for a Outreach Coordinator who will be responsible for outreach initiatives to recruit prospective clients, landlords, brokers and other referral agencies. Outreach initiatives will include but not be limited to rent arrear inquiries, participating in community outreach events, building relationships with food banks/pantries, shelters and other immediate care agencies.
If you have a minimum of 2 years’ experience administrative office experience within a non-profit organization, Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, public health or related field and a passion working on issues surrounding homelessness prevention, health and wellness initiatives and supporting people who are experiencing mental illness, domestic violence and substance abuse issues, we want to hear from you.
A successful candidate will be someone with:

Demonstrated ability providing excellent administrative experience in an office setting;

Experience working in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on developing mission-driven initiatives;

Excellent writing, editing, and verbal skills in English; Bi-lingual Spanish a plus.

Demonstrated ability to interact with client/tenants of different races, ethnicities, ages, and sexual orientations in a multicultural environment and a commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion;

Passion for storytelling, with the ability to transform technical and legal issues into broadly engaging, emotionally rooted, and informative narratives;

Experience engaging diverse audiences to generate interest and engagement through in person, electronic communications and social media;

Demonstrated ability to interact with client/tenants of different races, ethnicities, ages, and sexual orientations in a multicultural environment and a commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion;

An understanding of housing, health and wellness programs including HIV education;

Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office software with an emphasis on Excel, Word, and Outlook and working with data management systems; and

Strong time management and organizational skills with demonstrated ability to meet firm deadlines.
